Basketball Recap: Grand Haven Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Grand Haven lost to Holland back in February of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Grand Haven Buccaneers took down the Holland Dutch 61-47. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Dutch are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grand Haven's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Holland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Grand Haven and Holland Christian will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Holland, they and Ludington will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Ludington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Holland likes a good challenge.
