Basketball Recap: Austin Find Success

While Austin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Century Panthers on Saturday, sneaking past 87-84. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Packers have posted against the Panthers since February 21, 2020.

Austin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points per game. As for Century, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Austin will be playing at home against Albert Lea at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Austin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Century, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Century Panthers take on the Mankato East Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mankato East will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Century surely won't give up without a fight.
