Football Recap: Topsail Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Topsail extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs 42-6. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Tyler Vickers threw for 57 yards on five of nine attempts. Jackson Reeves was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

As for Northside - Jacksonville, they now have a winning record of 2-1. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23, 2024 (when they won 44-0).

A big part of Northside - Jacksonville's win came down to the chemistry between REGINALD GRAY and his top target JAMIAN JOHNSON. GRAY threw for 226 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes while JOHNSON picked up 47 receiving yards and two scores. GAVYN DAVIS was in the mix as well, providing Northside - Jacksonville with two touchdowns.

Topsail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 46-6 loss against Jacksonville on the 12th. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they have also already played their next game, a 28-7 victory against New Hanover on the 12th.
