Softball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Notre Dame

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boyd-Buchanan). They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Schwieter looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allison Johnson, who fired off seven RBI, two triples, and two runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Keyanna Jordan was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Boyd-Buchanan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Boyd-Buchanan's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Notre Dame, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
