Soccer Game Preview: Discovery vs. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy

The Discovery Spartans will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Discovery is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They and Kathleen finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Fort Meade on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Miners an 8-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Rachel Spor as she scored three goals for her team.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. Discovery's draw gives them a new season record of 0-8-1.

Discovery might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Ridgeview Global Studies Academy when the teams last played back in January. Can Discovery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
