It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Williamsport had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Montgomery Red Raiders 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted against the Red Raiders since May 1, 2015.

Jaymes Carpenter was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Lusk, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for South Williamsport and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Montgomery, they moved to 14-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
