Softball Recap: P.K. Yonge Drops Highest Score of Season Against North Marion

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask P.K. Yonge). They blew past the North Marion Colts 24-5 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Jessica Bain was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Mickinzi Anderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Bain wasn't the only one making solid contact: P.K. Yonge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for P.K. Yonge and bumps their season record up to 9-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for North Marion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, P.K. Yonge will be playing at home against Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blue Wave surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Marion, they will head out to face off against Belleview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
