Basketball Recap: Campbell Extends Home Winning Streak to 17

Campbell had won 16 straight home games dating back to last season and Saniya Binion did her part to make it 17 on Wednesday. The Campbell Spartans skirted past the Hillgrove Hawks 48-45 thanks in part to Binion, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Gabrielle Parish was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hillgrove lost, don't look at Aeris Macon. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 12 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. Macon is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Yolanda Floyd, who posted nine points and three steals.

Campbell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Hillgrove, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-7.

Campbell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-36 victory against Harrison on the 24th. As for Hillgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-41 win against McEachern on the 24th.
