Football Recap: Brick Memorial Has No Trouble Against Point Pleasant Boro + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rumson-Fair Haven, Brick Memorial was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-27 victory over the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Jason Lajara was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 252 yards and two TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 101 yards on only ten carries.

Point Pleasant Boro's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Videon-Perino, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 86 receiving yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Nick Spanola, who rushed for 77 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Brick Memorial now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Point Pleasant Boro, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Brick Memorial has already played their next game, a 28-21 win against Toms River North on the 19th. As for Point Pleasant Boro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-12 victory against St. John-Vianney on the 19th.
