Football Game Preview: Riverview Sharks vs. Armwood Hawks + How To Watch

The Riverview Sharks will head out to take on the Armwood Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Riverview sitting on three straight wins and Armwood on nine.

On Friday, Riverview beat Bloomingdale 20-13.

Riverview found their leader in sophomore Carter Peternell, who rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 102 yards while completing 75% of his passes.

Meanwhile, while Armwood put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Wharton. The Hawks really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Riverview better keep an eye on Rhys Brush. He was instrumental in Armwood's win, throwing for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Brush a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Desean Sharrieff was in the mix too, providing Armwood with two TDs.

Armwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

One reason for the win was Armwood's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Errol Demontagnac was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Kheilyn Hill got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Riverview's record now sits at 6-3. As for Armwood, their record is now 9-0.

Riverview was dealt a bruising 48-0 loss at the hands of Armwood when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
