Leland and Willow Glen are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Leland is taking a road trip to challenge Willow Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Leland was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Leigh 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Maria Carrillo as Willow Glen made off with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their two-run performance the game before.

Catalina Medina was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Willow Glen let Sienna Wilson and Haley Ocumen run wild. Wilson scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Ocumen went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was Ocumen's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Dilbeck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

The victory got Leland back to even at 3-3. As for Willow Glen, their record now sits at 9-0.

Leland couldn't quite get it done against Willow Glen when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can Leland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
