Softball Game Preview: Snow Hill Eagles vs. Parkside Rams

The Snow Hill Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Parkside Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Snow Hill turned things around against Washington on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Jaguars. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Parkside made easy work of Pocomoke on Monday and carried off an 18-5 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Natalie Breidenbach made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Julia Bright was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Layla Maybury was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Parkside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Snow Hill's record now sits at 4-11. As for Parkside, their record is now 7-8-1.

Snow Hill might still be hurting after the 19-0 loss they got from Parkside in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
