Baseball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Takes a Loss

Ezekiel Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Lightning recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ezekiel Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Andrews, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Ezekiel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Evangel Christian, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ezekiel Academy will take on Lafayette Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Evangel Christian, they will square off against Coosa Valley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lightning are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
