Basketball Recap: Newton Homeschool Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Katherine Oller and Rachel Graham

After flying high against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Saturday, Newton HomeSchool came back down to earth. The Newton HomeSchool Panthers fell just short of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent by a score of 44-41 on Saturday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Non Varsity Tournament Opponent earlier this season, when they won 38-16.

Rachel Graham and Katherine Oller certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Graham posted 17 points and eight boards, while Oller scored six points. That was a full 41.5% of Newton HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Newton HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Newton HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Rochester School for the Deaf on February 7th.
