Volleyball Recap: Delavan Comes Up Short

Delavan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Delavan ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Charlie Green and Addison Fisher, who picked up three kills apiece. Fisher really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five.

Delavan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Delavan will take on Lewistown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, they will face off against Abingdon/Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
