Basketball Recap: Overhills Skates Past Western Harnett with Ease

Overhills put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Western Harnett Eagles to the tune of 66-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Overhills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paris Autry, who went 10-for-14 en route to 22 points. The contest was Autry's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Anaiah McGee was another key player, shooting 70% from the field on her way to 19 points and five steals.

Overhills was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Harnett only posted three.

Despite the loss, Western Harnett still got an impressive performance from Tamara Hayes, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 17 points. Hayes is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Faith Woodard, who posted eight points and five boards.

Overhills' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Western Harnett, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Overhills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-51 victory against NC GBB Academy on the 22nd. As for Western Harnett, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-11 win against Red Springs on the 24th.
