Football Recap: Independence Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Senatobia, Independence was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the West Bolivar Eagles.

The win got Independence back to even at 2-2. As for West Bolivar, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will challenge Strayhorn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for West Bolivar, they will venture away from home to challenge North Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
