Baseball Recap: Athens Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Athens, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eustace Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Athens' win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Eustace, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8-1.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Athens Hornets take on Kemp Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kemp has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.6 runs per game on average), something Athens will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eustace, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fairfield at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fairfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Eustace surely won't give up without a fight.
