Basketball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. Mt. Eden Monarchs

Encinal is 2-8 against Mt. Eden since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Encinal Jets will be playing at home against the Mt. Eden Monarchs at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Encinal is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were beaten by Alameda 82-55. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while the Hornets are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Eden). They really took it to Tennyson for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-41 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Monarchs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mt. Eden's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points over those games. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
