Softball Preview: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Analy Tigers        
        
		
            The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will venture away from home to  take on the Analy Tigers  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. St. Vincent de Paul will be strutting in after a  win while Analy will be coming in after a  loss.
St. Vincent de Paul is headed out to face Analy after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. St. Vincent de Paul was the clear victors by  a  14-3 margin over Credo on Tuesday. The  victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Gryphon: they've now won three in a row.
 Makayla Bignardi was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out 12 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Bignardi was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Gracie Murphy was a standout: she scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March of 2024.  Johana Stone was another key player,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-3.
 St. Vincent de Paul  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Credo only posted  an  OBP of  .227.
Meanwhile, Analy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of San Rafael.
Like St. Vincent de Paul, Analy also got a great game from a two-way player:  Sophia Pellini. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   six  hits. Pellini was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Bella Jurek made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Maya Antonelli, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 St. Vincent de Paul skirted past Analy  4-2 in their previous matchup  back in February of 2022. Will St. Vincent de Paul repeat their success,  or does  Analy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
