Baseball Game Preview: Taylor Wildcats vs. Warner Christian Academy Eagles

Taylor is a perfect 4-0 against Warner Christian Academy since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Taylor Wildcats will take on the Warner Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Taylor hadn't beaten Crescent City on the road since April 15, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them last Thursday. Taylor walked away with a 5-1 victory over Crescent City. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Drew Moyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Puckett was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Taylor is undefeated when Puckett posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-5 otherwise. Jackson Harcus also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Warner Christian Academy can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Calvary Christian Academy by a score of 7-4.

Taylor now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Warner Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Taylor's way against Warner Christian Academy in their previous matchup on March 3rd, as Taylor made off with a 24-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taylor since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
