Softball Recap: Lake Travis Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lake Travis and East Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lake Travis had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 19-6. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cavaliers, who until this game were averaging 3.47 runs allowed.

Madison Pinzon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ella Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Lake Travis' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10-1. As for East Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-11 record this season.

While Lake Travis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
