Basketball Game Preview: Clay Blue Devils vs. Keystone Heights Indians

The Clay Blue Devils and the Keystone Heights Indians will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Clay hasn't scored more than 24 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row dating back to last season, Clay turned things around against Englewood on Tuesday. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Rams.

Clay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yuliana Garcia-Rodriguez led the charge by putting up eight points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Summers, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Keystone Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against Middleburg, falling 72-39.

Keystone Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Clay, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Clay beat Keystone Heights 37-25 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Clay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Keystone Heights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
