Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors vs. Blue Ridge Christian Bears

The Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Ridge Christian Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Front Royal HomeSchool on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors lost 56-36 to the Flames. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Darbi Hunsberger, who posted 18 points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Amelia Pierce was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge Christian took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against Timberlake Christian by a score of 43-32.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy took a serious blow against Blue Ridge Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-35. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
