Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Tulia

Tulia waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past Non Varsity Opponent 7-1. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jarvis Pestrana was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Tulia let Xavier Ortiz and Jacob Trevino run wild. Ortiz scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Trevino scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Tulia's win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tulia will face off against Friona at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
