The James River Midlothian Rapids will head out to face off against the Albemarle Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. James River Midlothian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, James River Midlothian needed a bit of extra time to put away Powhatan. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 7-5. The Rapids haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Eli Hulette, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Grant, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Albemarle won against Stafford on Wednesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Patriots beat Goochland by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

James River Midlothian's record is now 6-1. As for Albemarle, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

James River Midlothian took their victory against Albemarle when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rapids since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
