Basketball Game Preview: Battle Creek Grizzlies vs. Cornersville Bulldogs

The Battle Creek Grizzlies will face off against the Cornersville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Battle Creek fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Marshall County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Grizzlies' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Despite their defeat, Battle Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Molly Bratton, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalynn Martin, who posted 17 points.

Meanwhile, Cornersville earned a 36-28 victory over Marshall County on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Cornersville has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Battle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
