On Wednesday, Putnam City (Oklahoma City, Okla.) basketball star Xavier Henry was injured in a minor accident in Oklahoma City and taken to a local hospital for x-rays and an MRI.

According to CBS Sportsline, Henry suffered a fractured cheek bone and will miss around two weeks. From that point, Henry will be fitted with a protective mask

Henry, regarded as one of the top players in the nation, has narrowed his next destination to either Kansas or Memphis. Henry’s father played at Kansas, while former New York Yankees prospect and brother C.J. has enrolled at Memphis to play basketball this season.

C.J. Henry originally was slated to attend Kansas out of high school. C.J., according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, is out for two weeks a few weeks after undergoing foot surgery and rushed home to be with Xavier upon hearing the news at practice on Wednesday.

Henry attended the first practice for the defending national champion Jayhawks last week. Henry, a sharp-shooting southpaw swing guard, averaged 25.8 points per game last season before the Pirates were upset in the first round of the Class 6A state tournament by Tulsa Memorial. Henry was struggling with an injured wrist on his shooting hand towards the latter stages of the season.

“Anytime you hear about something like this it’s alarming,” Putnam City head coach A.D. Burtschi told the Oklahoman. “We’re concerned for him as a person right now.”

Henry was on his way to a local elementary school for a leadership program. Putnam City is regarded as one of the top teams nationally, especially with the additional of Norman move-in Kyle Hardrick.
