Baseball Game Preview: Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos vs. Randle Lions

For the second straight game, Fort Bend Marshall will face off against Randle. The Buffalos will square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Marshall is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Fort Bend Marshall came up short against Randle on Tuesday, falling 27-4.

For Randle's part, Cedrick McClintock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave McClintock a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with five RBI and two doubles.

In other pitching news, Jasen Gutierrez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Jaeden Humphrey was a standout: he scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Cristian Elizondo was another key player, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Randle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Randle's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11-2. As for Fort Bend Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Bend Marshall has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Randle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
