Softball Recap: Middleburgh Falls to Cherry Valley-Springfield in First Game of Season

Middleburgh unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Cherry Valley-Springfield Patriots on Friday, falling 16-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Looking ahead, Middleburgh will venture away from home to square off against Windham-Ashland-Jewett at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherry Valley-Springfield, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-0 win against Franklin Central on the 31st.
