Basketball Recap: Colorado School for the Deaf Blind Starts Season with Loss at Home

Colorado School for the Deaf Blind unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 30-14 fall against the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers on Thursday. The contest was a 12-12 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Among those leading the charge was Rylee May, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cripple Creek-Victor's points. Aubreanna Becker was another key player, putting up two points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

Cripple Creek-Victor now has a winning record of 2-1.

Colorado School for the Deaf Blind will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hanover at 4:30 p.m. on January 21, 2025. Cripple Creek-Victor and KIPP Denver Collegiate will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
