Basketball Recap: Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sangamon Valley/Tri-City can now relate to. They fell just short of the Athens Warriors by a score of 36-34 on Monday.

Leading Athens to victory were Sawyer Hill and Cody Tobias. Hill posted seven points and five steals, while Tobias had 14 points. Hill has become a key player for Athens: the team is undefeated when he posts at least five steals, but 12-17 otherwise.

Athens' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-17.

As of now, neither Sangamon Valley/Tri-City nor Athens have any future games scheduled.
