Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Bishop Hendricken's Winning Streak

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Hendricken duked it out withBarrington on Friday. The Bishop Hendricken Hawks fell just short of the Barrington Eagles by a score of 57-55. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Barrington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin McDermott, who posted 17 points. The game was McDermott's third in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Rigamonti was another key player, putting up 13 points.

With the loss, Bishop Hendricken broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for Barrington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Hendricken will venture away from home to face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Bishop Hendricken likes a good challenge. As for Barrington, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Kingstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barrington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
