Basketball Game Preview: Pentwater Falcons vs. Mesick Bulldogs

Pentwater and Mesick are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Pentwater Falcons will head out to square off against the Mesick Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pentwater is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Onekama just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the Portagers. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mesick hadn't done well against Suttons Bay recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Mesick slipped by Suttons Bay 53-52. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pentwater better keep an eye on Issac Stroh. He was instrumental in Mesick's win, putting up 26 points. Stroh continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jackson Abraham was another key player, posting 11 points.

Pentwater's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Mesick, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Pentwater against Mesick in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-29 win. Will Pentwater repeat their success, or does Mesick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
