Levi Ashurst leads Wheeler to victory over Sayre

The Wheeler Mustangs won the last time they faced the Sayre Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Wheeler came out on top against Sayre by a score of 56-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wheeler.

Levi Ashurst was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Wheeler's points. Another player making a difference was Marshall Mcneil, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sayre, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Wheeler will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fort Elliott at 5:45 p.m. As for Sayre, they will head out on the road to face off against Canute at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
