Baseball Game Preview: Richton Rebels vs. Lake Hornets

For the second straight game, Richton will face off against Lake. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richton has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Richton heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They came up short against Lake, falling 14-1. The Rebels just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

For Lake's part, the team relied heavily on Jd Gibson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hank Geter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Lake pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Richton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.
