Volleyball Recap: Cobre Victorious

Cobre won the last time they faced Taos and things went their way on Saturday too. The Indians came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1.

Hayley Gutierrez paced Cobre's offense, picking up 29 kills. Gutierrez got some help from Isis Dominguez and her 41 assists.

Despite the defeat, Taos saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sofia Ortiz Amdur had ten digs.

Cobre's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Taos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Cobre wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Silver on the 25th. As for Taos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Shiprock on the 25th.
