Football Recap: St. Patrick's Falls to Bridgeport in First Game of Season

St. Patrick had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 44-28 bruising from the Bridgeport Bulldogs. The Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Sutton Tickle threw for 93 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. Tucker Kemp was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Mason Giebler rushed for 53 yards.

Leading Bridgeport to victory were Nikolas Weibert and Gage Nein. Weibert rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores, while Nein picked up 138 receiving yards and two TDs. Weibert also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing two fumbles and making ten total tackles.

Looking ahead, St. Patrick's will challenge Sutherland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridgeport, they will take on Dundy County-Stratton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
