Softball Recap: East Hardy Comes Up Short

East Hardy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They came up short against the Broadway Gobblers, falling 17-1. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

East Hardy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Heishman, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Heishman has hit this season.

East Hardy's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Broadway, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, East Hardy will head out to square off against Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Broadway, they will host Amherst County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gobblers 0.8, the Lancers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
