Preview: Bellevue Eagles vs. Forestburg Longhorns

The Bellevue Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Forestburg Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellevue is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Bellevue was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to Saint Jo. Bellevue has struggled against Saint Jo recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Forestburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Prairie Valley 66-34 on the road. That looming 66-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Forestburg yet this season.

Brenna Briles was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lili Cisneros, who scored 20 points along with three steals.

Bellevue's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6. As for Forestburg, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Bellevue took a serious blow against Forestburg when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 54-18. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bellevue was down 32-2.
