Baseball Recap: Corbin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southwestern on Monday, Corbin came back down to earth. Corbin took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sayre Spartans on Tuesday. If the Redhounds were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cam Estep was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Cima, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Corbin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Sayre, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corbin will challenge Monona Grove at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Sayre, they will face off against Lafayette at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
