Baseball Recap: Whitehall's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Whitehall entered their tilt with North Schuylkill on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Spartans 10-4. Considering the Zephyrs have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Lindenmuth looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Seth Hoderewski and Zack Schaedel did most of the damage at the plate: Hoderewski got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Schaedel got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Donato Brigidi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Whitehall pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for North Schuylkill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitehall will square off against Allentown Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Schuylkill, they will face off against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
