Volleyball Recap: Columbus East Takes a Loss

Columbus East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Silver Creek Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Olympians of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Columbus East sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13.

Among those leading the charge was Henri Kutschera, who had ten digs and three assists. Those ten digs gave him a new career-high.

Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Columbus East has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Columbus North on the 2nd. As for Silver Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Scottsburg at 7:00 p.m.
