Basketball Recap: Marco Falcon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Calexico Mission over West Shores

Calexico Mission lost against West Shores back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Calexico Mission RoadRunners took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Shores Wildcats.

Calexico Mission lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marco Falcon, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leonardo Li, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Humberto Olmos was his usual excellent self, putting up 25 points for West Shores. Olmos has become a key player for West Shores: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 15 points, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelton Mu?iz, who put up ten points.

Calexico Mission's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for West Shores, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Calexico Mission didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-40 defeat against Julian on the 12th. As for West Shores, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-22 loss against Warner on the 14th.
