The Community School of Naples Seahawks will challenge the Imagine School at North Port Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Community School of Naples' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Imagine School at North Port's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Community School of Naples took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Evangelical Christian by a score of 6-3.
Chris Risola tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Nick Renteria was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Thomas Holland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Community School of Naples was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Imagine School at North Port never let their opponents score on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over South Fort Myers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.
Not much got past Alexis Pereira, who gave up just three hits to keep South Fort Myers off the board. Pereira also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Imagine School at North Port is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-10 otherwise.
At the plate, Cooper Boggess and Shalom Carrasquillo did most of the damage at the plate: Boggess went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Carrasquillo went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Chase Sivulich was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Imagine School at North Port's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Community School of Naples, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Community School of Naples has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Imagine School at North Port struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts.
