Baseball Game Preview: Lake Shore Eagles vs. Cheektowaga Chargers

Lake Shore is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Cheektowaga a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lake Shore Eagles will host the Cheektowaga Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lake Shore came up short against Maryvale on Saturday, falling 12-1.

Lake Shore saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Lamoreaux, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Samuel Smaldino also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Maryvale hit Cheektowaga with a nine-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers lost 14-6 to the Flyers.

Lake Shore's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Cheektowaga, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Lake Shore couldn't quite finish off Cheektowaga in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
