Soccer Game Preview: Owen J. Roberts vs. Methacton

The Owen J. Roberts Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Methacton Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Owen J. Roberts will be strutting in after a win while Methacton will be coming in after a loss.

Owen J. Roberts barely beat Boyertown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Bears 5-1 on Tuesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Meanwhile, Methacton fell victim to Spring-Ford and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 1-0.

Owen J. Roberts' victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight matchups. As for Methacton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1.

Owen J. Roberts was able to grind out a solid victory over Methacton when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
