Basketball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Panthers vs. Miramar Patriots

The Coral Springs Charter Panthers were the 53-44 winner over the Miramar Patriots when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Coral Springs Charter took a serious blow against the Patriots on Monday, falling 82-45. While losing is never fun, Coral Springs Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 675th, while the Patriots are ranked 225th).

Despite the loss, Coral Springs Charter still got an impressive performance from Jalen McGregor, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McGregor has scored all season.

Even though they lost, Coral Springs Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

It was another big night for Joshua Skinner, who scored 17 points along with three steals for Miramar. Skinner is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Siah Bolt, who scored 15 points.

Coral Springs Charter are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18. As for Miramar, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs Charter will square off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Flanagan comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Miramar, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Monarch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday.
