Recap: Catalina Foothills Falcons vs. Higley Knights
The Catalina Foothills Falcons were the 59-30 winner over the Higley Knights when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The match between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Catalina Foothills falling 56-42. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Catalina Foothills lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Clara-Mae Hrouch. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Hrouch scored a full 47.6% of Catalina Foothills' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading Higley to victory were Claire Greenwade and Cadence Murdough. Greenwade scored 14 points along with 3 steals, while Murdough dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Greenwade's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Izzy Krpata was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Catalina Foothills has fallen quite a ways from their 24-6 record last season and are now at 1-4. As for Higley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Catalina Foothills will be playing in front of their home fans against Marana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Marana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday. As for Higley, they will head out on the road to face off against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
