Basketball Recap: Palmdale Falcons vs. Antelope Valley Antelopes
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knight, Palmdale was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Antelope Valley Antelopes by a score of 56-47. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Palmdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Delouth out in front who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Thornton, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Deshawn Lewis and Gavin Houston certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lewis went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points, while Houston went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Houston a new career-high in points.
Palmdale's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Antelope Valley, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.
Palmdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-56 defeat against Carpinteria on the 14th. As for Antelope Valley, they will host Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
